Caleb Riser joined Richardson Plowden in 2009 in the Columbia office. He focuses his practice on construction law.

Mr. Riser graduated with high honors and cum laude distinction from the University of Tennessee, earning his Bachelor of Architecture in 2000. He was the recipient of the Torchbearer Award, the highest honor given to a University of Tennessee student, as well as the recipient of the Alpha Rho Chi medal, which recognized him with the most professional promise of his graduating architecture class. For six years, Mr. Riser was employed by TVS-DESIGN, located Atlanta, Chicago and Dubai. While at TVS, Mr. Riser worked on commercial projects for Marriott and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and distinguished himself as chairman of the Professional Development Committee.

He earned his juris doctor from the Regent University School of Law in Virginia Beach, Va., in 2009. While in law school, Mr. Riser was chairman of the Alternative Dispute Resolution Board. He also served as a law clerk at Richardson Plowden for two years. His experience in architecture brings invaluable insight, knowledge and experience to the practice of construction law.

Mr. Riser is a member of the South Carolina Bar, American Bar Association, an associate member of the American Institute of Architects and a Certified Document Technician. He has spoken on issues related to sustainable building design liability and LEED certification.

Mr. Riser and his wife, Terri, are members of Shandon Baptist Church, where he serves as a deacon.
