Richardson Plowden has been a leader in the field of appellate practice for many years. The Firms handles appeals in the state and federal appellate courts involving a variety of topics, including State Tort Claims Act liability, professional malpractice, complex tort liability, business disputes and insurance coverage questions.

Shareholder Steven W. Hamm, former Consumer Advocate for the State of South Carolina, also regularly appears before both state and federal appellate courts and is a recognized expert in consumer affairs cases.

The Firm’s appellate attorneys handle appeals of cases from other firm members, as well as appeals of cases handled by outside attorneys who have associated Richardson Plowden on appeal.
